Who are we?
The administration of the country code Top Level Domain .GT (ccTLD) is the sole entity in charge of mantaining the registry of Internet domain names with the country code assigned to Guatemala.
In 1992, the "Internet Assigned Numbers Authority" (IANA) delegated to the Universidad del Valle Guatemala (hereinafter UVG) the stewardship of country code Top Level Domain (ccTLD) ".gt".

Contribution to national development
We comply with Article 15.4 of DR-CAFTA on Internet domain names.
- Providing dispute resolution procedures regarding domain names, based on the principles established in the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP).
- Providing public access to a reliable and accurate database of contact information for domain name registrations.
Social Projection:
To encourage the use of Internet in Education and e-Government, from January 2, 2007, registered domain names under the following sub-domains are exempted from payment. *
.edu.gt
.gob.gt
.mil.gt
* Irrefutable proof of belonging to the corresponding sector is required. Only ONE domain name will be delegated free of charge per institution.
